Dear, oh dear.

I had planned on a light-hearted post tonight in response to a comment that was made last night, but it's going to have to wait. I've been at the Doncaster races all day, I'm knackered, just taken an age to do all the figures, and my wife isn't at all well. So, just the sorry basics tonight...

  1. Thanks for you kind comments Rowan

I am sure it is the same person with maybe a grudge against the service I use. I hope to spruce the blog up after AIntree and have another service on board so hopefully will add some interest.

I have often thought of having a bigger portfolio but just about manage to get my daily bets on with the one service, having a full time job and family makes it difficult as times as you know.

It looks like you have had a tough week but as you know it can also turn the other way in no time at all.

I had terrible time late last year and at one point thought it would not turn the other way but one brilliant month turned it around and hopefully now i am back on track for the year.

Every day is a new day and over a longterm period it usually evens out.

  3. Hi Dean,

It's been a funny one this week. It was all going swimmingly until Friday, and then Wham!

The consolation is that I tend to measure things by months and I'd rather have this at the start of the month with plenty of time for it to pull around than build up the profits over the course of the month only to lose them over a couple of days at the end. I know the net result is the same, but find it easier to handle mentally.

    All the best,

    Rowan

  4. Hi Sam,

It's nothing to worry about as you know - just a couple of bad days, which let's face it, happen.

Looking at yesterday, it just so happened that three services that carry bigger stakes on each individual bet had a bad day together. In terms of actual points, the losses really aren't very much at all. It would be much more of a worry if the losses were a steady accumulation of lost points from the average staked bets, if you know what I mean.

Helen's a bit better this morning, thanks. She has a chronic, genetic condition called Ankylosingspondylitis which is horrible when going through a bad patch, but the majority of the time it is controlled well by drugs. This is going to sound dreadfully twee, but there are times when she is a real inspiration. I've seen her in real pain, hardly able to walk, and yet she just gets on with things without any complaining at all. 'Stoical' doesn't do it justice. Makes me feel a bit inadequate at times, truth be told. Anyway, kids have cheered her up this morning.

    Cheers,

    Rowan
